The fine print:

  • • Submission of a photograph constitutes agreement to allow it to be reproduced, published and/or exhibited in print or online by the University of Alberta.
  • • Photos must attempt, in some way, to make Augustana’s library visibly recognizable (although, recognizability may be open to creative interpretation).
  • • Photo entries can be submitted only by the person who took the photograph.
  • • Photographers must ensure they have their subjects’ permission to submit photos in which those people are recognizable. Signed release forms (available at the Library service desk or online here) must be provided to the Augustana Library on request.
  • • Each photographer can submit as many entries as desired but each photo must be submitted separately.
  • • Each photograph submitted must include a brief caption explaining or titling the photograph.
  • • In addition to how well they respond to the categories listed above, entries will be judged for their photographic merit, including composition, tonal qualities, originality and vibrancy.
  • • The decision of the Library Photo Contest Committee is final.
  • • The Library Photo Contest Committee reserves the right to not select a photo for any given category/theme.
  • • The contest is open to current Augustana students, staff, administrators and faculty.
