Indigenous Peoples and Afro-descendants in Latin America and the Caribbean Data bank: PIAALC

Description

This Data Bank contains different subsystems of information with indicators for indigenous and afro-descendant peoples. The subsystems are El Sistema de Indicadores Sociodemográficos de Poblaciones y Pueblos Indígenas (SISPPI), Migracion interna de los pueblos indigenas en America Latina,Indicadores de Salud a Nivel Municipal, Juventud Indigena y Afrodescendiente, and Desigualdades Territoriales de Pueblos Indigenas y Afrodescendientes. They were created on the basis of several projects developed by the democratization of information, CELADE, the Population Division of ECLAC in recent years. These projects have been made possible through the support of different United Nations organizations and with international cooperation, such as the Pan American Health Organization, the Fund for the Development of the Indigenous Peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean, the Ibero-American Youth Organization, the Inter-American Development Bank, and the Ford Foundation.
