The major goal of the library instructional program is to assist users to develop the information literacy skills that are crucial to the processes of becoming professional educators and independent and lifelong learners. Ask at the Service Desk about the availability of drop-in classes or special help required with library resources.

Course-integrated library instruction programs are provided for Education and Physical Education students.
General enquiries about instructional programs in the Herbert T. Coutts Library may be directed to kathy.west@ualberta.ca.
Or you may ask at the Service Desk for more information by phone 780-492-3770 or by e-mail educref@library.ualberta.ca
Faculty members may contact their liaison librarian to arrange a session.

  • Check the technology training calendar and register online for drop-in instruction sessions at the H.T.Coutts Lab.
  • University of Alberta Technology Training site lists scheduled instruction, mainly related to computer or technology skills, but includes other training programs as well.
