The 2nd Floor of Cameron Library is now closed for renovations.

Our Staff and Services:

  • Our Public Service staff provide library use assistance, reference and information services, and technology support from the Service Desk on the Main Floor.

  • Cameron Help is our service for students in Cameron Library that need assistance but wish to remain at their workstation. Let us come to you.
  • Liaison librarians provide expert library research assistance and collaborate with faculty and students to develop services and collections in traditional and e-learning environments. They also create Subject Resource Guides to help you navigate quality information resources.

  • A number of our liaison librarians offer Librarian-in-Residence services in the departments they work with:
  • Cameron Library offers 24 hour access to computers and study space from Sunday through Thursday nights during the Fall and Winter terms, and the Cameron Library Study Hall (B-05) is open from 7am-2am year round.

  • Cameron Library has over 300 computers over two floors: the Main Floor and in the lower level Knowledge Common and Study Hall. We have printers (B&W and colour), scanners, and the software you need for your academic work. See our Cameron Library Technology Tips.
  • The UWS wireless network is available throughout the building and we offer table seating with plug-ins, individual and group workstations, bookable group study and presentation preparation rooms with computers and LCD display, and a comfortable soft seating area for studying or relaxing.   
     
  • Group Study Rooms may be booked online.
  • Study Area Directory - each floor has its own noise zoning to meet all of your work and study needs.

  • Edmonton Public Library (eplGO): EPL's first satellite location is on the first floor of Cameron Library. Pick up holds or borrow from the selection of magazines, graphic novels, DVDs and bestsellers. Open weekdays from 9am-5pm.

  • Cameron Library on Facebook - Become a "Fan" of Cameron Library to follow news and learn of new services.

Our collections:

  • Science and Technology Collection

    Located on floor 3 of Cameron Library, this collection supports research and teaching in the Faculty of Agricultural, Life and Environmental Sciences; the Faculty of Engineering; and the Faculty of Science.

    • Dr. Josephine M. Mitchell Mathematics Library

      Located in 528 Central Academic Building (CAB), this library contains the Library's research collection related to Mathematics and Statistics. Undergraduate and popular materials in mathematics are located in Cameron Library as are many other interdisciplinary materials related to mathematics.

  • Canadian Circumpolar Collection

    Located on floor 4 of Cameron Library, it is a world-class special collection for research in Northern Canada and an outstanding collection for circumpolar research. The boundaries of the collection are geographic with an emphasis on the North American arctic and subarctic regions.

  • William C. Wonders Map Collection

    Located on floor 4 of Cameron Library, it is one of the largest collections of cartographic materials in Canada. The collection includes maps, atlases, globes, aerial photographs and other cartographic materials. While the emphasis of the collection is North American, it contains maps for all parts of the world.
