The Blue Sky Their Horizon: Alberta Women Making History is an exhibit catalogue that showcases an astonishing range of documents—including everything from homemade journals to private diaries and church histories—that tell the tale of Alberta women. In assembling the exhibit, the curator has brought together a collection of stories that immigrant women in Alberta have told over the last hundred years as they settled this province. The catalogue offers readers an intimate account of how women from all walks of life have left their mark on this land, and it honours the many women who were agents of change in a province where women were faced with many challenges and obstacles. The exhibit and catalogue pay tribute to the determination and resolve of the many women who created a history of Alberta. (The catalogue is available for purchase at the Bruce Peel Special Collections reference desk at a price of $10.)
