The Robert J. Woods Western Americana Collection

In 1968, the University of Alberta acquired the Robert J. Woods Western Americana Collection at an auction in Los Angeles. The collection contained approximately 8,000 books, pamphlets, and periodicals, including a nearly complete collection of publications from the Grabhorn Press (1915-1966, and the most celebrated of California private presses), many Pacific Coast voyages, rare early books on the gold rush of 1849, and 62 of the 80 volumes described in The Zamorano 80.
