Use of Workspace for Students, and its add-on modules Datastream and Aftermarket Research (AMR), is restricted to students, faculty, and staff of the University of Alberta. Each user is responsible for ensuring these products are used for individual, non-commercial, educational, or research purposes only, and must not systematically download or retain substantial portions of information.
This product requires individual registration with a University of Alberta email address.
Due to limits on the number of concurrent registrations, all user accounts will be removed following the end of each academic term. Any user requiring access for an additional term will need to re-register.
Registration Instructions:
- PLEASE NOTE: User accounts are not activated until after two emails are received
- The first email provides a registration link
- The second email provides confirmation, and sign-in details
- It can take 2-6 hours, and possibly overnight, before the second email is sent
- DO NOT TRY TO RE-REGISTER if you are still waiting to receive the second email. You can contact the Business Subject Librarians for assistance
Restrictions on Use:
- Datastream: downloading is limited to 10 million data points per calendar month. PLEASE NOTE: In order to download from Datastream, users must install the desktop version on their own computer. The desktop version provides an Export to Excel option. From the web-based version Datastream, users are able only to copy and paste data
- Research Analyst Reports in AMR: Viewing, printing and downloading is limited to 150 pages per user, per 24 hour period
- Research Analyst Reports in AMR: Viewing, printing and downloading limited to a report value limit of $2,000 per user, per calendar year, based on the commercial value of individual reports. PLEASE NOTE: Library users are not charged, but use is limited to the equivalent dollar value of report content

- U of A students, faculty, and staff are permitted to download the desktop versions of Workspace for Students, Datastream, and Aftermarket Research
